Qld: Woman charged with killling brother granted bail

TOWNSVILLE, Dec 19 AAP - An 18-year-old woman charged with the stabbing murder her
15-year-old brother has been granted bail in a Cairns court.

Margaret Olive Miles, of Bayview Heights, appeared in the Cairns Supreme Court today,
charged with killing Dudley Miles on December 13.

Defence counsel Stephen O'Reilly said the court was satisfied Miles was not an unacceptable
risk and granted bail.

She is due to reappear in court on February 27.

"Clearly this is the most tragic of circumstances imaginable," Mr O'Reilly said.

"The family is greatly relieved that bail has been granted."

Police allege Dudley was stabbed in the chest. He was pronounced dead on arrival to hospital.

Miles had been held in custody since her arrest.
